Handsets to display radiation limits ..TOI Dec 23,2011

Any thing in excess is bad. And specially use of anti green or electronics. Get up and reach to TV instead of using remote and keep body active. And so on ....true for cordless phone etc...

I request everyone to mail me sms me but for every purpose they want to call even if one is in hospital, cemetery, driving, temple,  sleeping, making love, in a meeting a not so urgent call comes. And everyone wants to talk long , give phone dictation. Why???

No one wants to make use of google maps and everyone wants directions on phone. Why??

There r ppl who take pride in saying I never chk mails??? What kind of these ppl r ??? Stone age??? Monkey age???

Many corporates have made sites, they have contact us button but either those r not working or no one opens mails. I sent an inquirey to Asian paints and they called after 60 days. On quering they said we just opened the mail today.

Another server prob is corporates give email id as atholiys.xzyltd@xyz.com and if atholiya leaves a job then u cant communicate to that company. If A tholiya is a branch head of andheri div. then it shud be bmandheri@xyz.com so who ever is a BM @ andheri div will get the mail and get back.

Use more and more sms and email and less of voice call. Ofcourse with whom ur heart feels warmth and u miss him/ her then do have a voice calls. ................Alok

Handsets to display radiation limits

Govt Wants 900M Users To SMS Or Keep Voice Calls Short To Avoid Radiation

Shalini Singh TNN

New Delhi: Over 900 million mobile subscribers will soon be direct beneficiaries of stringent new government norms to control harmful radiation from mobile handsets,a tacit admission that the present radiation levels are injurious to health.
The government wants to enforce education of consumers about the benefits of the hands-free option and choosing SMS over voice calls or keeping mobile calls as brief as possible, with special health warnings for children, adolescents, pregnant women, and those with medical implants.A large majority of subscribers have no information /recourse relating to health hazards from possible harmful Electro-Magnetic Frequency (EMF) radiation from mobile handsets.
Radio frequency (RF) is the primary medium of mobile communication. The rate at which RF energy is absorbed by the body is called Specific Absorption Rate (SAR).Various global studies establish that exposure to RF energy beyond a threshold SAR value can cause significant health issues.India has so far been following a SAR limit of 2 watts/kg in accordance with ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection Association ) norms.
An inter-ministerial committee has now curtailed the SAR level for mobile handsets further to 1.6 watts/kg average over a six minute period and taken over a volume containing a mass of 1 gram of human tissue. The SAR level shall be displayed on handsets. The guidelines prescribed by this committee will lead to guidelines and legally binding provisions under the Indian Telegraph Act.This includes a mandatory provision that all cell phones sold in India in future comply with relevant BIS standards and be sold with hands-free devices. The SAR value information of the mobile handset should be available on the manufacturers website andin the handset manual. The information on SAR values shall also be made available to mobile subscribers at the handset point of sale.
Further, all mobile handsets manufactured and sold in India or imported from international destinations shall be checked for compliance of the SAR limit. Those manufacturing handsets in India will be required to self-declare SAR value of each handset. In respect of imported handsets, manufacturers, apart from self-declaration of SAR,shall specify the SAR information in their documentation, which will be verified by the appropriate authority.
The government also wants the instructions in the consumer handset booklet or user manual to contain five new safety precautions. These include : Use a wireless, handsfree system with a low power Blue Tooth emitter;ensure that cell phone has a low SAR;keep voice calls short or send text messages insteadan advice that applies especially to children, adolescents and pregnant women;use cell phone when signal quality is good;and finally people with active medical implants should preferably keep mobile handsets at least 15 cms away from the implant.

After some original ideas some pirated stuff :
LIPS
With winter here, are you wondering how to care for your lips? Yes, the cold can severely affect your lips.
  • Your lips have only three or five layers of skin cells. Your body has over five times that!
  •  The lips are very sensitive to temperature changes and need extra protection
  •  Avoid using petroleum based, lip balms on a regular basis, since this can become addictive.
  •  Try finding lip balms that do not have a petroleum base.
  • You can look after your lips as you look after your skin. Use a moisturizer, or for long stretches in the sun, use a sun screen.
  • If you have dry lips, use a moisturizer before using a lipstick
  • Choose lipsticks which are high on the oil content. This will protect your lips from cracking or chapping.
  • Remember the ultra gloss lipsticks actually have a drying effect on your lips.
  • It’s important to take care of your lips! The sooner you start, the better…
SKIN
With winter here, dry skin is inevitable! Most people need to pamper their skin during winter months, no matter what skin type they have. If your skin is dry, remember you will need to pay extra attention to your skin during the winter months. Dry skin ages faster, and also gives the appearance of being older, so to maintain your youthful glow, get started right here and right now!
  • In stead of your regular cleanser, use almond oil to cleanse and nourish your skin.
  • Smear your face and neck with Aloe Vera. It has healing and soothing properties, and rejuvenates the skin.
  • Use essential oils like Calendula / Lavender in facial saunas. They soften and soothe dry, itchy skin.
  • A dash of milk powder mixed with almond oil can make for a great skin softener in a hurry!
  • If your body feels dry and flaky, add milk powder and a few drops of almond oil to your bath water. See the visible difference!
  • Try this wonder mask: mix together one egg, a teaspoon of honey, a few drops of olive oil and enough rose water to make a smooth paste. Nourish your skin for 20 minutes once a week with this mask and feel the smoothness!
  • Try mashed banana or mashed avocado. Both moisturize the skin.
Remember, regularity is the key to good skin. You will need to pamper your skin on a daily basis to see a visible difference! More so during the winter months.
ELDERLY PEOPLE ( LIKE ME) AND WINTER:
Winter strikes with many diseases, specially for elderly people. Elderly people are at high risk of falling ill during winters as either the existing diseases turn severe, or they develop some common seasonal diseases. As winter account cold and snowfall, they need help frequently. If you have an older person in your family who stays alone and is very dear to you, take special care of him during this season. There are many factors that need to be considered while caring for elderly people such as hygiene, medical care, nutrition, maintenance of home, shopping for grocery and medical prescriptions, etc.

As elderly people found difficulty while doing physical tasks, help them. Make sure that they don't do excessive physical work as it may lead to strain or other major problems. Winter accompanies extreme cold that makes the situation even more critical. Help elderly family members by shopping grocery items for them. Don't allow them to go for shopping as it could be dangerous for their health. While purchasing grocery, buy everything they need in large quantity and store it so that they can use it for more time.

Most of the elderly people do not like taking help from anyone and do some rigorous activities on their own. Do these work  by yourself while you visit their home. Call them regularly so that you can know their health status. Ask them if they need anything or if there is any health issue that might be presenting difficulty to them. Help them if needed.

At later stages of life almost all of us develop some health problems due to one or other reason for which we have to take medicines to control them. As your loved ones also need to buy these formulations regularly, go get it for them. Help them in buying their medicines or ask medical outlets to do the home delivery, if applicable, of prescribed medicines at their home.

It is very important to keep elderly people well hydrated as they drink less water during winters that could pose a serious threat to their health. Assist them in all outdoor activities as severe cold may attack them at any point of time. Check if they are wearing warm clothes during morning and evening hours as cold is at peak during these hours.

Take care of your loved elderly person so that they can  pass on winters safely.
Move them to south if they  live on northern side of country.

''Everyone has a right to choose neighbourhood, staff and tenants of their own choice. Rather many co.s dont accept all type of clients too. So above article is in a bad taste. Though some landlords went overboard but has writer even written abt what kind of difficulties landlords have under gone???? Many landlords prefer to keep their premises under lock and key as these kinds of articles have made society, police and courts against landlords. ''

Diabetes prevention is easy then controlling it later..

 ways to prevent diabetes

Diabetes cannot be cured, but it can be prevented.
Whether you fall in the high-risk category for diabetes, or are simply concerned for your health, do read the top 10 ways in which you avoid getting this disease.
A healthy diet and exercise can help prevent diabetes
A healthy snack, by definition, is:
1. Low in fat, especially trans fat
2. Low in calories
3. Low-cholesterol
4. Baked rather than fried
A multi-grain snack made from oats, corn, ragi, rice, wheat and flax seeds are rich in fibre and provide wholesome nutrition. Oats, ragi, wheat have adequate amount of essential amino acids, vitamin B, calcium, iron and specially rich in cellulose whereas corn is an excellent source of iron, B` vitamins, magnesium, vitamin C, phosphorous and zinc.

Overall this multi grain snack brings you considerable health benefits along with great taste.
Of course, knowing what not to eat is as important as knowing what to eat. One should be wise enough to avoid fried, oily and generally high on calorie content snacks.
Besides this, healthy snacks are at the crux of reducing the chances of diseases, losing weight and keeping you energetic all day. The most important advantage of taking healthy snacks is that you do not binge later on foods that are unhealthy and may become the leading cause of obesity and other diseases.

IMP NOTE : Sadly I dont follow any of the above dictum. ....Alok

Pass the Banana

Pass the Banana
A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych cl-ass told his cl-ass about bananas. He said the ex-pression 'going bananas' is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.

After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fibre. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.
It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:
Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anaemia :
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anaemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives..

Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey... The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips... Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness.. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:
Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood Enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:
According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe it's time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A banana a day keeps the doctor away!'
